Do we find ourselves often saying, “Ugh, I’ve got to do this . . . and I’ve got to do that . . .?” Well, I’d like to suggest that we replace an “o” with an “e” and make the word “got” into “get”! If we do that, every drudgery becomes an opportunity. Here are some examples:
From, “I’ve got so much homework to do this weekend!”
To, “I get to do homework because I have the opportunity to go to a great college.”
From, “I’ve got to spend time with my family this weekend!”
To, “I get to spend time with my family because I have a family and they love me.”
From, “I’ve got to go to church this Sunday!”
To, “I get to go to church this Sunday because I live in a country with religious freedom.”
From, “I’ve got to go to work today!”
To, “I get to work today because I’ve got a job to provide for my needs and the needs of others.”
What a great thing to do with family and friends at the Thanksgiving table. Let’s put down our devices and spend time reflecting on all the “o’s” that we can change to “e’s” and reflect a heart of gratitude for the many blessings in our lives.
Safe travels and God bless!!
